1:00 pm Volunteering at FPC’s Spring Yard Clean Up

Come give 3 hours of your day to make a difference at the church that is now our VFC home! Please join us to volunteer at First Presbyterian Church’s Spring Yard Clean Up. We will be cleaning up the outdoor space around the church: picking up sticks and trash, spreading mulch and anything else that needs to be done.

When: Saturday, May 11th,  1:00-4:00pm

Where: First Presbyterian Church yard

What: Helping to clean up the outdoor space around the church.

**This is not a drop off VFC event. A parent/guardian must stay and volunteer with your member. Please register your member but list the parent/guardian that will be with them. Please wear VFC shirts if you have them.

Come one, come all to our VFC birthday party!  We will celebrate 14 years of VFC in the Church parking lot!! It is sure to be fun fun fun! We’ll have music, dancing, games, food for purchase, and a scavenger hunt. We also will have a very special guest, The Baron of Bubbles, who will amaze us with his huge fantastic bubbles. This will be an interactive activity, all members will get to help the Baron make giant bubbles too. Great fun for all ages! Do not miss this fun outdoor birthday celebration!

This event is $5 per family.  Please register your member and list additional family members coming in that field.

All members are welcome and encouraged to celebrate with us!

It’s that time of year again! Join Valley Friendship Club member families and friends on Tuesday, June 25th  for a great night of food, friends, music, and fun! We’ll be outside at Lift Bridge Brewery hanging with our VFC friends, listening to music by  “The Rockin Tony Show” (Tony is a VFC member) and playing yard games.  Pizza will also be for sale.

This is a fundraiser for VFC, $1 from every pint and $2 from every growler sold goes directly to VFC. Spread the word and tell all your friends. This is a family friendly spring event, join our great VFC community and raise a glass of Lift Bridge beer or root beer and have fun with your friends!

No registration required, just show up and support VFC!

We are excited to announce we are having our 2nd Annual VFC Variety Show and you are invited!! We are looking for members who want to shine in front of your friends and family! Show us your individual self! Be creative! You can read a poem, sing a song, dance, tell jokes, whatever is your passion, please share it with us!

If you would like to be in the show, please fill out this Google FormAll acts must be limited to 3-4 minutes each. 

We will be serving appetizers made by our VFC Cooking Class and water/lemonade! Please join us for this fun night celebrating our VFC members! Please register total number in your family that plan to attend and watch the show.

Let’s kick off the summer with a Barn Dance at 21 Roots Farm! Grab your comboy hat and head to the farm for fun afternoon of dancing. We will do some line dances and maybe we will even try a square dance or two! Then when your feet need a break, you can visit with all the animals on the farm.  Fun for the whole family. Join your VFC friends and register today!

Tickets are $5 per person. Please login to register, and register all in your family who plan to attend.

10:00 am Let’s Go Mucking with Wild Rivers

Let’s discover what’s living beneath the water’s surface on a Let’s Go Mucking adventure! Equipped with rain boots and nets, we will explore the underwater world of the St. Croix River searching for macroinvertebrates and other lake floor inhabitants. **Bring your own rain boots, water shoes, or strap on sandals. We will provide the nets and other supplies needed to collect creatures living in the water. If the water is too cold or if some individuals do not wish to step in the water, participants will be able to use long-handled nets to search the water while staying on dry ground.

Vehicle Admission: Free

Bathrooms: indoor with running water

Where to Meet: By the bathrooms up by the water in the park

Recommended items to bring/wear:

  1. Rain boots, water shoes, or strap-on sandals (to step in water)
  2. Small towel (to dry hands and feet)
  3. Water bottle
  4. Sunglasses

Please register member and list any other family members that will be participating in that field. Price is $5 per family.

10:30 Hike at Stillwater Environmental Learning Center Loop

Come join us for some exercise and to get outside and explore nature. We will be walking the 1.2 mile loop at the Stillwater Environmental Learning  Center. This is an unpaved relatively flat trail behind Stillwater High School. Please join us!

Please park in the parking lot behind the High School and look for the trail sign and our VFC Staff.

1:00 pm The Secret World of Soil with Wild Rivers

Have you discovered the secret world of soil just below your feet? Have you ever learned about soil, what it is, and why it’s important? Come join the Wild Rivers Conservancy to investigate and ‘dig into’ the soil in the St. Croix Watershed. You will have the opportunity to learn about the properties and importance of soil all while participating in a few different hands-on activities. Activities will include exploring and identifying different soil forming factors, learning about the living things in soil, and learning how to texture different soil types.

All equipment will be provided, but we have a limited number of buckets for you to sit on so we encourage you to bring folding chairs if you would like to sit in comfort. Be prepared to get a littlebit dirty and to have lots of fun!

Reminders:
● Dress for the weather.
● Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty (soil is fun, but can be messy!)
● Wear a pair of comfortable shoes (hiking/tennis shoes)
● Bring your own water and snacks, if desired.
