With DJ, pizza & treats, the party will be great!

VFC’s annual Halloween Costume Party is back inside at Oakland Middle School. Be ready for a great night of music, dancing, pizza and treats. Fun for the whole family! Please mark your calendars and come join us!

2:07 pm St. Paul Saints Baseball Game

Bring your parent or guardian and come join your VFC friends at a Saints Game. VFC has a block of reduced price ($3 off) tickets in Section 102 by the entrance for their game vs Columbus on Sunday, August 14th at 2:07 pm. We will send you your tickets ahead of time and we will all meet at the game. Families or members with a guardian are all welcome to attend.  For an extra incentive, it is Copa de la Diversion Day featuring mariachis and pinatas! Extra fun!

Please register all people who will be attending the game.

10:00 Hike at Sunfish Lake Park

10:00 Hike at Sunfish Lake Park

Come join us for some exercise. We will do a nature scavenger hunt while we hike at Sunfish Lake Park in Stillwater. After our hike we can check out the Sally Manzara Interpretive Nature Center. This event will be $5 per family, please register your member as 1 participant and then list additional family members in that field.

Silent Film Premiere

Silent Film Premiere

VFC members worked hard during the Silent Theater Camp and had so much fun! Join us at the Zephyr Theater at 7:30 pm on August 3rd for the red carpet premiere of VFC’s Silent Film starring 12 of our members. Meet the fabulous actors, grab some concessions, hang out with your friends, and enjoy the film. This event is free and no tickets are required, but donations are always appreciated.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota, through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

5:30 pm Townie Tuesday

It’s that time of year again! Join Valley Friendship Club member families and friends on Tuesday, August 23rd for a great night of food, friends, and fun (also beer, brats and bacon jam)! We’ll be outside at Lift Bridge Brewery hanging with our VFC friends, listening to music by Colin Bracewell, grilling out, and playing yard games.

This is a fundraiser for VFC, $1 from every pint and $2 from every growler sold goes directly to VFC. Spread the word and tell all your friends. This is a family friendly summer event, join us for hot dogs, brats and burgers along with the famous bacon jam and lift bridge root beer!

No registration required, just show up and support VFC!

Let’s discover what’s living beneath the water’s surface on a Let’s Go Mucking adventure! Equipped with rain boots and nets, we will explore the underwater world at Sunfish Lake Park searching for macroinvertebrates and other lake floor inhabitants. **Bring your own rain boots, water shoes, or strap on sandals. We will provide the nets and other supplies needed to collect creatures living in the water. If the water is too cold or if some individuals do not wish to step in the water, participants will be able to use long-handled nets to search the water while staying on dry ground.

Vehicle Admission: Free

Bathrooms: indoor with running water

Where to Meet: The parking lot outside the Sally Manzara Nature Center

Recommended items to bring/wear:

  1. Rain boots, water shoes, or strap-on sandals (to step in water)
  2. Small towel (to dry hands and feet)
  3. Water bottle
  4. Sunglasses

This event will be at the pond in Sunfish Lake Park in Lake Elmo. There will be a short walk to get to the pond from the parking lot. It is also Family Nature Day at the Sally Manzara Nature Center at Sunfish Lake Park that day so there will be other activities going on as well.

Please register member and any adults that will be participating. Price is $10 per family.

4:30 pm VFC’s 12th Birthday Bash

Come one, come all to our VFC birthday party!  We will celebrate 12 years of VFC in the Hub parking lot!! It is sure to be fun fun fun! We’ll have the Darn Good Food foodtruck, a DJ for some dancing, a scavenger hunt, crafting table, VFC tattoos, silly string games and much more! Do not miss this fun outdoor birthday celebration!

Darn Good Food will have hamburger, brat or pork sandwich meal deals for $10 (also includes chips, cole slaw & a drink) & $7 cheese curds available for purchase so bring your wallet and come hungry!! Please bring cash as they accept cash and checks only!

10 am Stillwater Community Showcase

Valley Friendship Club will have a table at the is fun community event organized by the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce. There will be 120+ exhibitors, local food vendors, local entertainment and fun activities for kids.  Come learn more about your Stillwater community and stop by and say hi at the VFC table!
