1:00 pm The Secret World of Soil with Wild Rivers

Have you discovered the secret world of soil just below your feet? Have you ever learned about soil, what it is, and why it’s important? Come join the Wild Rivers Conservancy to investigate and ‘dig into’ the soil in the St. Croix Watershed. You will have the opportunity to learn about the properties and importance of soil all while participating in a few different hands-on activities. Activities will include exploring and identifying different soil forming factors, learning about the living things in soil, and learning how to texture different soil types.

All equipment will be provided, but we have a limited number of buckets for you to sit on so we encourage you to bring folding chairs if you would like to sit in comfort. Be prepared to get a littlebit dirty and to have lots of fun!

Reminders:
● Dress for the weather.
● Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty (soil is fun, but can be messy!)
● Wear a pair of comfortable shoes (hiking/tennis shoes)
● Bring your own water and snacks, if desired.

This event is $5 per family, please register the member and then list other family members attending in that field.
